C-Sec Delivery

A Cesarean section or C-section is a surgical procedure in which one or more incisions are made through a mother's abdomen and uterus to deliver one or more babies. A Caesarean section is often performed when a vaginal delivery would put the baby's or mother's life or health at risk.

Our doctors would try to do Normal Delivery as far as possible and would do C-sections only when normal delivery is not possible. Your gynaecologist is the best judge to decide if a vaginal or caesarean delivery would be safer for you. A lot of patients and their families doubt the intention of the gynaecologist in going for c-sec delivery which is not completely misplaced as a lot of gynaecologists do prefer c-sections over normal delivery but not for monetary reasons. The gynaecologist who is well trained in doing C-Sec deliveries would give an incision on the abdomen in such a manner that it is not visible when you wear short tops. The incision and the stitches on the uterus are given in such manner that it causes minimal scar which keeps the strength of the uterus intact for subsequent deliveries.

There are various reasons due to which Gynaecologist would advise you to go for a caesarean delivery. They can be:

Not enough room for the baby to go through the vagina

Twins or more babies

The mother has health problems including HIV infection, herpes infection, and heart disease

The mother has dangerously high blood pressure

The mother has problems with the shape of her pelvis

There are problems with the placenta

There are problems with the umbilical cord

There are problems with the position of the baby, such as breech

The baby shows signs of distress, such as a slowed heart rate

The mother has had a previous c-section

Cesarian Section Delivery in India costs in range of INR 50000 - 125000 depending upon the class of accomodation chosen for the pregnant mother. Delivery in Luxury Suite will be expensive but will get you world class services which you would remember in a lifetime. This is a very opulent and classy way of bringing your child into this world. However the packages in the range of INR 50 - 75 thousand are equally good and have no compromises in terms of quality. The gynaecologist, paediatrician and anaesthetists all remain the same regardless of the package. Choosing a more expensive package is mostly the decision of the family and not the suggestion of the hospital or the doctor as is commonly portrayed in the society. The package for delivery would not include the cost of blood products if required during or after the surgery. The cost of investigations which are normally not associated with C-Sec delivery are also not a part of the package. If consultation from any other specialist except your gynaecologist is required then that would be charged extra.
