What is Cesarean Delivery?
Cesarean section or c-section is the delivery of a baby through a surgical incision in the mother's abdomen and uterus. Most of the time a c-section is scheduled in advance. But sometimes it is done in response to an unforeseen complication. At GNH Hospital, Gurgaon, We advise cesarean delivery only when it is essential. Our experienced gynaecologists ensures that all your queries regarding a cesarean delivery are answered.
During cesarean delivery, first the doctor will give anaesthesia. When anaesthesia starts working, gynaecologist makes the cesarean incision through lower abdomen and uterus. There may be an intense feeling of pressure or pulling as the baby is delivered. After delivering the newborn through the incision, doctor then removes the placenta and closes the uterus and incision with layers of stitches. Right after surgery mother is taken to a recovery area. Stay in the recovery area is for 1 to 4 hours, and then mother is moved to a hospital room.
